Save the ink as i did the same thing,   I started out that way but to print you need good ink and paper and you will use a lot this and it is also very costly  and then you will have problems after a lot of prints,  And so now i edit and  burn all my photo's onto disc i buy the good ones so as they will last a long time and it's great to watch them on TV when ever you want and one Disc can hold a lot of photo's i recon this is the way to go but first you must learn how to do this  it is easy once you know how Movie

I print my images at home for "draft" purposes - I still think the photo labs and one-stop booths do a better, cheaper job. The best of the DYI equipment makes for a quite expensive home product when you take into account the usually high costs of decent photo paper and ink cartridges, wastage, the cost of the equipment. I'll take my stick/card/port over to Officeworks (their machines can handle my 50+ pics at a time) and pay 29c per pick than do it myself any day... and I'm a graphic designer by trade (ah the irony...)

As mgamdm stated, use your TV to see the pics. These days with modern televisions, hooking up a PC with a slide show application is not that hard. And there you have a moving mosaic of your lovely photos playing straight off your hard drive, if you want to. Think what you will save on ink and paper (the savings here far outweigh the cost of the power).

I always use the printer at home to print my photos. Got to love digital cameras and digital tech.  As already mentioned, putting all your favorite images on a disc and watching them on your tv or monitor sure beats the old photo albums with fading photos.

Yeah, it's cheaper to take them into the super market if you have a heap to do.

If you only have a couple it's more convenient at home.

I often print out the ones I like to keep on hand, but I make up CD's of photos, such as my grandson's birthdays, or Christmas time or holidays. Label them and just like a photo album you can take them out and even see the images on your TV.  This way they are not clogging up your computer

i to  love dig film taking.. but i feel it can be quiet expensive and drains my ink supply at home. so prefer to take my stick down to betta or office works. works out cheaper for me.. i put some over tocd ..and the rest i put into my pics..i use various family pics for my slideshow, i have lots of old pics that i want to send to my pics.. it will take yonks to doi it. as i have 3 generations of pics to do... but then again you can just go to the trusty old photo box and get a dated pack of films out and have a look at them.. (well usually) whereas i currently have about 300 on my stick to decide which ones i want to print out.. must make it my new years resolution for 2010 to get more printed before i allow them to build up..  yeah right..

Yup, I agree. I found out how much ink and paper ends up costing and pertty much stopped cos you can get prints from 9 cents up to something like 26 cents, so it really is cheaper to give them to someone else.

I only print of if I need one as a prezzie or something of the sort.
