I did not know that anyone actually liked Fosters so any change could be an improvement.

I reckon that Fosters are somehow in choots with these drinks that r targeting youngun,s. Why bring down the alchohol content for beers my gen has drank but support the candy water thats pushed on to our young ones . An if you think a lower content would stop them getting drunk    I think you just want them to spend more to get the same amount into them. They might be young and stupid but we are NOT. Its all about money,And by the way what about the Govt getting liquor money. They go on about younguns drinkin but yet they let this candy water be sold to em.

i am,or now was a big VB drinker.i did not know the change was going to happen but just for some reason the beer didnt taste the same to me so i checked the can and then i seen it was 4.6alc content.I emailed fosters and i got the same reply as is posted here.Fosters dont know what they are talking about, the taste has changed for the worst, the prices have gone up bigtime in the last 12 months.

i know one thing is when i change drinks,my 3 cartons of VB a week wont hurt the Fosters corp, but if everyone has the same idea as me than truck loads of VB might as well be delivered to the dump.Sounds like i have better taste spuds then Fosters professional tasters.BYE BYE VB and the Fosters corperation.

Great idea! I hope all the other breweries do the same.

Better for the hip pocket, health system & society in general.

I think this is a fantastic idea what with the generation of bing drinkers now. This is what a lot of the beer brewers should think about in lowering the alcohol level in the production.

I agree with this and other similar statments.

I think I am not using the "thumbs up/down" thing properly- I went to press "thumbs up" to this comment, in italics above, and found I have apparently voted "thumbs up" to neighbouring comments I may not have chosen to vote thumbs up for. Can someone please inform me how the thumbs up system works? I thought you could vote thumbs up or down for each individual comment and so I am unsure what I am doing incorrectly.

You should have a niether tag

I feel that there is no need for any one to want to drink alchol so they should be making drinks with only a required amount of alchol to preserve the drink. N one should be getting drunk or need to it is a floor in human nature that should be eraticated like they are trying with smoking and other harmfull and distructive druges

Thats about right they will lower the alcohol content but I bet the price wont go down only up.  And then they will probably turn around and get rid of the 375ml stubbies like a lot of the others have.  I agree the financial crisis around the world has affected well fosters at least

I think lowering the alcohol content by 3% is acceptable, considering many other consumables have been down sized, or liquids altered in strength , making it a safer choice of drink , less likely to getting pulled over by the cops & finding you are well over the limit after having 3 stubbies. I personally think there is to many different beers out there, vb drinkers will still drink it regardless if the companies reduce the alcohol content, times change so think this is a good idea.

Any reduction in the alcohol level in beer is a good thing.  When you see the mess people make of themselves - it is so degrading - you have to agree  it would be better.

As long as the flavour isn't affected, I think this is a fantastic idea!

I can't understand their point in reducing the alcohol content. What are they trying to prove? Are they trying to say that you can drive after drinking Foster's? Anyway, I was wondering if the taste will change too. Might just switch to some other beers then.
