Living a de facto relationship does not mean you can just walk away. You still have to split things equally if you have been in a long relationship. Still go through the heartaches and the pain and seeing everything two people have built together go down the gurgler. Once two people live together married or de facto has the same relationship regardless

Growing up seeing my mother beaten and practically my older sister bought us up because my mother was always in hospital. In those days my mother never had the resources at her feet for help like we do these days. And I am sure if she did she would have left my father ages ago. Yes she was married but life was a constant battle for her and her 12 children

I strongly disagree. Now these days defacto's have almost if not the same rights as a married couple. I have been a defacto for 19 years now and still very happy. [Poll]

I cannot believe just how many people would rather give to animal welfare rather than the salvo's or red cross. I just wonder how much emphasis is put on a humans life if anyone had to choose between the two. Maybe it's that people tire trying to help those who cannot help themselves or who abuse the system. It's the 1% that could ruin it
